Went and checked out an area around Goodland early this morning to look for some juvinile Tarpon. Mike joined me for the paddle. It was a quiet morning with no other boats around and a crazy tide with hardly any tide movement, the water stained. We located a lot of fish but could not get them to eat again, very frustrating but thats tarpon fishing. A couple of snook were caught and I got spanked by a bigger fish that caught me off guard and broke me off in the mangroves. Mike caught a nice 20" trout which are not usually there this time of year. Very hot again probably close to 100 degrees. We were back where we launched around 11.
